    Product Control Lead (Projects & CI)

    The Projects and Continuous Improvement Lead is a strategic position within the Commodity Risk function and bp's Trading and Shipping Finance. You will work with cross functional teams to develop solutions that drive continuous improvement and innovation across our commodity risk management teams.

    You will play a key role working in diverse squads to develop innovative solutions to exciting business problems in a highly multifaceted trading/commercial environment.

    While working with traders, commodity risk and market risk colleagues to provide focused analytical expertise to deliver high-quality, robust modelling and tooling to support risk analysis, you will also be able to use your experience of automating processes, improve them and drive consistently new and better ways of working.

    In this role You will:

    • Responsible for the creation and delivery of high quality, insightful, valuable added, and automated management information.
    • Identify/evaluate/recommend and implement digital applications/tools/solutions that can be used by our commodity risk teams.
    • Support regional and global process standardization initiatives. Work collaboratively with Global Finance, Technology and Risk teams
    • Work with cross functional teams (i.e., front, middle, back office, information technology, operational excellence & transformation) to deliver continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
    • Identify repetitive processes that can be standardized into modules that can be reused across projects.
    • Act as a subject matter expert and ensure that knowledge and information is shared and embedded across all members of the finance & risk community.


    What You will need to be successful:

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
    • To be proficient in some of the following digital tools/languages: PowerBI, Microsoft Office, VBA, Python, SQL, Power Automate/Apps.
    • Knowledge of Python and using visualization tools to surface analytics (Power BI and Tableau preferred); Experience using a coding language to develop models and analytical tools
    • Experience manipulating and analyzing large, complex datasets
    • Independent, creative problem solver that can find alternative solutions to complex problems
    • Excellent problem-solving ability and strong attention to detail
    • Desire to continually improve with a passion to innovate and the ability to develop new analytical methodologies
    • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic trading environment
    • Project Management / risk management experience is preferred.
